Put Your Pet Up on Adopt A Pet’s website
Sometimes circumstances beyond our control require us to rehome a pet and Adopt a Pet offers this much needed service. ARF requires you to place your pet up for adoption on Adopt a Pet’s website (Adoptapet.com) to try to keep your pet from having to be put on our waitlist to get into our shelter. The more pets owners can place the fewer we have to take into our shelter. Owners are more likely to find just the right home because they know their pet best. Our shelter is very crowded and our space is limited. Your animal will be posted on their website just like one of ours except all applications will be sent directly to you for you to evaluate and make the best decision for your pet as to where to place it. You will contact the applicants and set up times and places to meet to further evaluate the potential adopters. You, not ARF or Adopt a Pet, will handle all aspects of the adoption process.
There is even information on how to make your post be more effective and an adoption form to download on the website . There is a minimal charge to list your pet. You get to determine how much your adoption fee will be. Always charge a fee to keep your pet from being used for a bait dog in dog fighting, or food for exotic pets. Charge at least $50 or more for your pet,
